the weekend of camping was only interrupted by rain a few times, which were simply excuses to crawl into the tent and take a nap anyway. the neighbors at the next campsite were a super nice couple our age, who had a pretty cool kid and who immediatley introduced themselves and offered up all the food, drink, and smoke that they had. meeting people who are so nice right from the start makes me want to be a better person in general. so while the campground itself wasnt exactly "roughing" it (right off a freeway exit and a stones throw from a nuclear power plant), and the weather was at times close to unbearably hot, it was a pretty fun trip.

however while camping with my boyfriend is fun, he's suddenly expressed an interest in taking me on his family's annual all-family camping trip, which sounds like a whole 'nother matter alltogether. sure lying around and cuddling in a tent is fun, but as far as his family is concerned you have to be an eagle-scout black-belt with an engineering degree before they even consider you a somewhat worthwhile human being. needless to say i've never exactly lived up. i'll have to find some way to weasel out of this one...
