I've been having a lot of arguments with vegetarian people lately. I have no problem with people being vegetarian, everybody is free to eat what they want, but a lot of them seem to have issues with other people eating meat and the most recurrent reason I hear is "You are eating an animal!! They are alive and they get killed because of people like you!"
Now, that statement is absolutely true, but I don't think it is necessary bad, and here are my reasons:
1. Meat eating animals exist everywhere, nobody expects a lion, a bear or a wolf to go vegetarian, and they kill their pray just as much as we do.
2. Most animals we eat today have evolved from wild animals to domesticated animals because we've bred them for food and leather and other things for thousands of years. If we all stopped eating meat, cows, chicken, pigs and sheep most probable would go extinct. Isn't that as bad or even worse than eating them?
What I do think is that the animals we eat often live in terrible circumstances. They live all crammed together swimming in their own feces stuffed with antibiotics and hormones. I think the solution is to be more aware of what we DO eat instad of what we don't. Eat farm and organic meat, give the animals the opportunity to live a happy cow, pig, chicken, etc life and give your body healthy hormone and antibiotic free protein.

And that's exactly what I do. If I ever became a vegetarian, I would have to cook twice, because there is no way my man would ever give up meat. I just don't have time or energy to do that, so I compromise the best I can by being careful about what kind of meat I eat.
