You know how people say "funny" when what they really mean is "peculiar"? That bothers me for some reason. Clarity is important, although I can't spell worth a damn.
Anyway, today was a peculiar day, compared to a normal person's schedule; compared to my own schedule three weeks ago. I got up around 10am because the sun sears through my bedroom window washing the pillows of my bed in searing light. It's really the best natural wake up call I've ever gotten. There's no rolling over or hiding from it and there's none of that loud and irritating alarm business. During the winter time it doesn't happen because the sun is angled behind the high rise apartment buildings differently, but spring through fall, it's there making sure I don't waste the day away.
I spent a solid chunk of the day screenprinting 4 t-shirts for one of my best friend's new landscaping business. Now, this is the first time I've ever done this for profit (which I mean loosely because I'm charging him a measly $20 for them) and I'm not sure I'm going to do it again. I love doing the creative and experiental stuff, but cutting out 32 tiny letters by hand (and praying I don't muck it up), printing front, back, side & top seam, with a three color registration is not only mind numbingly boring but incredibly irritating. In the end, I hope he likes the way they came out because I worked pretty hard on them, but it was definately too much work to do on a regular basis. This is what it ended up looking like:
Through a stroke of luck and a little miscommunication, I am currently getting free cable (HBO included) which I'm very okay with. Normally, I don't watch a lot of tv. Before moving into this apartment I hadn't had cable for about 5 years, so tv hasn't really been my thing. I have a lot of DVDs, but meh. The difference is, now that I don't have a job I'm spending a lot of time in my apartment and I leave the tv on for noise or to catch my attention occasionally. Well, today I remembered why cable is so bizarre. I watch about 2 hours of "the Deadliset Catch" on Discovery, followed by several hours of cartoons on Nickelodeon, about an hour's worth on Cartoon Network, 15 minutes of a plastic surgery show on E! before I was totally grossed out, Rachel Maddow on MSNBC (SUPER crush) and a show on Water Ceremonies in Cambodia on some Chinese channel. I signed up for Netflix.
Alright, my boyfriend is mocking me. It's time to start reading the third twilight book, which will only humiliate me more. Not to mention I'm still being sour about some pretty heartbreaking defeats in Mario Kart tonight. Ciao.

Don't be upset. English is a funny and peculiar language. Sometimes words don't have a singular meaning.
