It's been a hell of a long week. One of my co-workers died Tuesday evening at home. Nothing remarkable, he just sat down on his couch and died. I'm going to miss having him around the shop.
Wednesday was Veteran's Day. My company provided a catered lunch to all of us veterans who work there, a gesture that moves me to tears. It always makes me self-conscious though. I was the youngest person in the room by far, and I can feel the shock from people as I tell my story of how long I've been in the military, the places I've been stationed and the deployments I've been on. It's hard to talk about sometimes.
I got fuck all done at work this week. After hearing about my co-worker Wednesday the day was pretty much shot. Thursday wasn't much better. Next week will be better.
In the meantime, I had a great dinner with my girlfriend, and I am currently enjoying some fine Jefferson's whiskey and some much needed solitude. Hope y'all have a good weekend. Talk to your loved ones, they'll be gone before you know it.
