Still waiting on the parts I need so I can put my truck back together. I'm supposed to get a phone call from the dealership when the parts are in, so I can go pick them up. The tricky part is going to be getting to the dealership.
I'll be thankful when this mess is over and my only means of conveyance is once again fully armed and operational.
In the meantime, I've been experimenting in the kitchen with a few ice cream recipes. When I get home from Annual Training and get moved into my new place, I think I'm going to cobble together an ice cream maker from a cooler and my steel mixing bowl. I'm also going to get a book of ice cream recipes and I'm going to make some killer ice cream.
I'm hoping to be on the road by 3 o'clock today. We'll see what happens.
Update: After 9 agonizing hours and several trips to the parts store, the truck is back together and so far it is running just fine. I'll have to keep an eye on fluids over the next few days, but so far so good.
In summary, I pulled off the axle, then the hub, and replaced the caliper mounting bracket, the caliper, the pads, the rotor, and replaced the hub and axle, then bled the breaks as well as refilling the oil in the differential. I'm fairly proud of myself, since I've never even touched the hub before.
