so...i've decided to reinstate kung fu & chicken night...it's the most awesome event of the week....here's what happens: you go to best buy, or wherever you buy movies, and you buy up every kung fu movie you can find (or afford)...it doesn't matter whether or not you've seen the movie previously, if it's famous, or if it's good quality...any kung fu movie will do...then you go to wal*mart or publix (though they're more expensive) and you buy up enough beer and chicken to feed everyone you've invited for the evening...and don't forget the barbeque sauce (i'm a big fan of sweet baby ray's sweet vidalia onion or their honey bbq myself)...then you go home and grill the chicken wings, legs, or thighs (or all 3 if you were smart enough to buy them )...once the chicken is done, you pop in one of the kung fu movies you previously purchased and create a drinking game...for example: in "Drunken Master", they say "buddha be praised" like a million times...so you'd make it so everyone drinks when it's said...you will be suprised how sloshed you get...get your friends together every week if possible (thursday nights for me)...



any kung fu movie is good, as i've said...but the best ones are the awesomely shitty ones...or the incredibly fantastic ones....to assure you get the wonderfully shitty ones you can buy a box set usually called something hilarious like "Drunken Master Movie Fest" or "Wind and Dragon Box Set"....and for good ones you'd probably want to get "Shogun Assassin", "Shaolin Soccer" (directed by the same guy who did "Kung Fu Hustle"...an equally fantastic movie), or "36th Chamber of Shaolin" (which if you haven't seen it you should be shot)...movies that could be put in the kung fu movie category that most people don't think count would be movies like "Big Trouble in Little China" and "Wild Zero" (which is a zombie, kung fu, rockabilly, alien, homoerotic, self-awareness movie)....



anyway...by the end of the evening, everyone's drunk, full, and completely entertained...the perfect end to a wonderful evening...however if people are too drunk, you may want to offer your sofa or call a cab...safety first!! and if you were smart enough to buy the box set or to buy all the movies the store had to offer, then you'll have movies for next week...1 movie a night is usually fine because once you get home, your friends come over, you finish cooking the chicken (i would suggest grilled corn as well...yummy!), and then everyone drinks and eats quite a few hours have gone by...so stock on kung fu movies you guys! trust me...you'll love it
