Visited the memorial of one of my favorite musicians today. Here’s a few shots from the Kurt Cobain memorial park in his hometown of Aberdeen,WA.
Being in this place where he would come to get away from his parents and just spent time in the quiet really makes you realize a lot. I expected it to be a quiet place under a bridge. What I didn’t really understand until I was standing here was the somber feeling. The absolute loneliness of this place.
Not long after getting to
The park, this little cat wandered up the path from under the bridge. Walked right up, just meowing away. He was so friendly, even though he wouldn’t sit still long enough to let me get a decent photo of him. He’d made a little home for himself under the bridge. Kurt loved cats and I think he’d be happy to know this little guy was there.
His memorial is only a couple blocks from his childhood home and guys, seeing this town and this place, I can understand a few of his demons. I’m so glad I got to stand in the place where he spent so much of his time growing up.
