Well, I took about a year off from the site. It's such an unbelievable time-waster, y'know? But when Spooky e-mailed me with a special old-skooler's offer, how could I refuse? Hot naked girls, journals, and popular culture galore! I've been so out of the loop lately, I had to read about the horse fucking a guy to death in Washington, right across the border, from Dan Savage. Had I stayed current on SG, not only would I have known about it when the story was only hours old, but Daniel Robert Epstein probably would have interviewed the horse! Or maybe Ryan - she's good with animals.
So, I'm baaaack. Of course, nobody will know, because I have long since been removed from everyone's friends list.
Anyone heard from Corvus? I didn't mean to fall so far out of touch.
What's new with me? My hang gliding log shows - let me remember - maybe thirty hours of airtime and seventy launches and landings? (Launching is optional, but landing is mandatory). The last flying I did was up in Chelan Wa on the July 4 weekend, when I flew across the Columbia river and back. I took the rest of the summer off from flying, and from most other things, to get my house ready for sale. Bought a house in Beaverton, sold my house, moved my shop out of the basement and into a shop in Hillsboro, and darn near had a nervous breakdown doing all of that. Now my house is mostly empty, I take new possession of my new house next week, and my shop is up and running, even though it looks like a bomb went off inside.
Bitchin' housewarming party some time in late September or early October. Lots of firedancers.
Oh, yeah, I have kept up on the fire spinning. Dropped in by a friend's party the other night and blew them all away with a fire performance. That was nice. They even sent me a thank-you note. Isn't that sweet? I wish I had manners like that.
Lost my step-father to lung cancer. Lost my best friend's wife to a brain tumor. As for myself, the latest CT scan shows continued remission. That's about sixteen months. I'll drink to that! Well, I have never been much of a drinker, but "I'll fuck to that!" sounds so crass, even if it is somewhat more accurate.
I've been dating a girl pretty regularly this summer, and we are starting to talk about going monogamous. So all of you suicidegirls who have been dying to get into my pants had better move quickly!
Yep. I'm still a dreamer and a total smart-ass. Some things never change.
Don't look for updates too often. Maybe every two weeks? Or maybe monthly. With the new house, my business grinding along, and someone to date, I just don't have much time for the SG community. That being said, I missed you guys. I am glad to be back.
So, what did I miss?
