I have a date Saturday. A friend of a friend I met a few weeks ago. This girl has a very unusual, very intense energy. I can't tell whether I am going to get action on the first date or if she's a wait-until-we're-almost-married type. But there will be dinner, and tango, and at least a little flirting. Can't complain.
Suddenly I have three new girls' phone numbers. Either I ran into a bit of luck, or else I hit the level of loneliness that drives me to hit on every available woman I meet. From where I'm sitting, I honestly can't tell the difference. All I know is that Saturday I am taking a woman dancing, enjoying some conversation, and trying my darndest to get into her pants.
I am a little worried about offending her. I always expect a girl to be pissed off if I swing for the fence and strike out. Women's capacity to forgive that sort of thing is always a surprise to me. I guess we'll be putting this one to the test. When in doubt, collect data.

I think, for the most part, women expect us to swing for the fence. As men that's what we do. They're used to it by now. Of course that doesn't mean they like it or are going to give it up. I've found they prefer a little mystery, "does he like me? He didn't even try to kiss me". Girls like it when we play coy. But I could be wrong. I never swing for the fence the first time around mainly out of fear of rejection but I'm a coward like that. So did anything good happen? Anytime you're up for fire night at DP let me know, I'm just about always down for that!
