Why is there such a sigma on suicide? I mean if the person is wounded, sick and no hope for recovery, why not end their misery and let them finally have peace in the next life they could not find in this life? Incurable illnesses and the hell it puts the victims and their families through can be too much to bear. Why not let them go? Why is this such an anathema to people? Why do we try to convince them it will be better and to just hold on and things will improve? What if they never get better and this is as good as it will get? What if they have served their purpose in life and they are done? Why make them suffer past their usefulness and endure the pain of continuing to live? I just do not understand this kind of thinking...
