What is your favourite film and, why?

@bloghomework

I have a collection of favourites but the one that sticks out the most for numerous reasons would be Forrest Gump, closely followed by anything by Quentin Tarantino. (brilliant mind)

Forrest Gump made me feel a mixture of emotions when i first watched it, as i cried i smiled and even though some of the plot was incredibly deep and mature it related in many ways. Simple little things like struggling in younger life, being a late bloomer, physically and mentally in some ways.

In a way its a feel good movie with a wicked moral. Pretty much do not underestimate anyones capabilities in life. Tom Hanks is a brilliant actor and personally this is my favourite role he has done.

I love how even in this film which anyone who hasn't seen needs to... they focus on showing what people can do not what they can't and even a man with as many issues as Forrest Gump grew up strong because of them.

I think i have watched it over 100 times easily & i love it every time. Great story!

The Big Lebowski. Yes I know it's a bit of a "hipster" answer but it is a brilliantly scripted piece of comedy (I know, I know the word fuck is used a squillion times but whatever). The acting is superb and it is one of those films that I can watch whatever good/bad/indifferent type of mood I am in and come away feeling better about life. Plus it taught me a rug can really tie a room together and introduced me to the joys of white Russians.
