Little things are cute

I am sooo tired. My Mr. and I got a lab mix puppy and she is cute, but she requires constant supervision (I watch her constantly and she's still chewed through 2 leashes we're using as drag lines!). My sister raises guide dog puppies, so I got a hold of their training guide... she'll be the most well behaved puppy ever......

It's ski season!!! I have all my gear ready and waiting, put 30" chunky tires on my Wrangler and bought some board racks for the roof (much needed, cuz the inside won't hold 4 people and 4 boards... it was more of a 2 person board vehicle before). I kinda wish I had chains, but I'll have to keep an eye out on craigslist. I'd...

Ah!! Holidays... I bought a tree yesterday and started decorating. It's pretty well done, but I found a box of new ornaments that never even got touched, so I guess I'm gonna try to add some of those. I always do my tree in pink, black and silver ornaments. It's a very SG tree if you ask me. Star_Struck and I really wanted to do...

I want to write a blog... but I can't think of a theme for one!! I like writing, but I feel so uninspired.

The best idea I've come up with was a photo/journal blog about the lives of my shoes. I do have a lot of fabulous shoes. But that might only appeal to shoe whores like me and foot perverts. Not that I mind...

Pet Peeves
i'm writing from my enV touch mobile, so sorry for using all lower case... onto my pet peeves

1. when movie previews have scenes in them that are not in the actual movie.

2. people who apologize to get out of trouble but are not actually sorry.

3. dvds with menu music that plays after the movie (so you can't just fall asleep)....

I'm an army brat so we're all pretty diligent about gun rights, but my family is definately not freaking out about political events. We are sooo careful about buying ammo. Every gun has a stockpile of Zombie ammo, lol, but nothing outrageous. It's the same standard stockpile of ammo we have had for years and years and years, before Obama and Bush before him. (All politicians are bad anyway) The ammo we're trying to get is for plinking, and you have to buy that on the cheap. I won't buy 22LR unless they're in a brick and I don't buy all the hollow point, home protection blah blah blah rounds. It's all about cheap ball ammo when you're shooting soda cans.
FYI - I police my brass when I shoot and collect it for when we can start re-loading our own ammo. It's getting too expensive to buy ammo for the range (other than 22LR), it's cheaper to reload.
BTW, saw you're getting into photography. Your background in lighting will take you far. Take a darkroom photo class, it'll teach you how to use all your manual camera settings and start looking at light in 2D. Plus understanding how to shoot film translates to digital and teaches so much technical ability. So helpful.

Thanks for the class tips! Hopefully ASU will bump my employment to full time, which means that I can start taking classes for FREE smile

Growing up sucks.
I don't normally feel old, even though my Mr. just turned 30 and I'm a month away from being 27 (if you're 40 I'm assuming you're reading this and thinking I'm an idiot for thinking 27 is old, but I wanted to stay 23 forever). Lately, I think what's making me feel old is seeing kids that I knew when I was...

Could be worse: Ran into a "kid" who I worked with when I was at a production company... she was 13 and everyone called her "Mouse" Because of her squeaky voice, somewhat larger ears and the fact that she was looked after well since she was the smallest girl in the cast.

She came to PRODUCE an event at my venue!!! Hardly recognized her, but she still referred to me as the "Old guy" :\ Here she was doing the same thing I did....but ....man.... she had more girl bits than I remembered.

THAT will make you feel old.

Oh, and thanks for the add! Nice to see a girl shooter smile they seem so rare outside of my family.

Money sucks, I hate being broke!! I photographed a wedding recently, which was interesting and a total pain in the ass. I much prefer portrait and fashion photography and pin-upy or artsy stuff. The upside was that I got paid, so I get to put all that money into buying studio equiptment.
We have a one car garage at our house that is empty during...

There is nothing around for miles. I'm being drug 3 hours to have lunch for my Mr's bday. That's just rediculous. I hate my in-laws. Is there a group for that? lol

I forget sometimes that the world is such a sad place. I'm dealing with personal stuff, and I wonder when suicide is acceptable. It's something I would ever do. But when you're old and dying and broken, is it possible to pass happily and easily alongside your wife and expect your family to understand that decision? I can't decide whether I condone that choice or...

Hello,

I like you eye, and the fact that you are doing old fashioned wet prints. However, for less money you can get a better camera than a Holga. I know people like the light leaks, and lens flair, but really they leave me flat. In the used market for around 50 dollars, you can get a camera called an Ikomat, that makes 6x9 images on 120 film, and will knock you sox off. Also there is a camera called a Netar that will equal any modern lensed camera, and has flash synch, and coated optics.
