Okay, so when I took this whole flight instructor gig, I figured "Cool, I'll get paid to fly. I won't get paid that much, but it beats some of my previous jobs (*cough Disney *cough)." Well, if I have many more weekends like I'm having now, I might actually be in danger of making an okay amount of money.
I seem to have come into the graces of the Flight Fairy and been gifted with students that want to fly....a LOT. I might have to cancel my last lesson tomorrow since I'll be in danger of going over the FAA max for flight hours in a 24 hour period. Not a bad problem to have. Now if I can just get some people that want to learn to fly the twin engine planes, I'll be on a fast track to the airlines.
Oh, and cicatrix made mention of the new bar going on the field. Yeah, that's right BAR. Well, it does say "restaurant and bar" in the title, but I can tell ya right now that some of the biggest drinkers I know are pilots. Just ask America West.
That being said, there IS a rule. Blood alcohol level max is set at 0.04, and no less than 8 hours from the time you stop drinking to the time you start flying. "8 hours bottle to throttle" as they say. But, does it still count when you drink out of cans and glasses?

I guess I'll just have to stick to "Bourbon N Swerven" on the ground for now
