Okay, so the whole security thing is getting WAY out of hand. I'm one of the lucky ones since I actually do this shit for a living. We have to take our bags on the plane whenever we fly since a) we switch planes about 6 times a day and b) sometimes we don't even know where the hell we're going to be that night.

It seems like everytime a plot is uncovered that could result in a disaster, the solution is to ban the items used in the plot. Let's not actually IMPROVE security by getting machines or processes that could detect explosives. Let's just make people check their toothpaste, etc and take off their shoes.

NOW we find out that the machines can't even detect explosives in shoes! So, what was the friggin point? Back when I worked at the airport in Orlando, I actually got yanked aside for the "extra screening." Bitch, a 10 year background check by the FBI to get the job wasn't enough? Now, you decide to go on a power trip and make me late for work?

Personally, I think TSA peeps should be shown what the inside of a flight deck looks like. Who needs toothpaste, hair gel or a laptop? I've got this nifty crash axe right behind my seat!
