Interesting developments over here. Looks like my days as a flight instructor will be over as of tomorrow, and my days as an AIRLINE PILOT will be starting on Monday.
A couple of weeks ago, I got an offer for an interview at a regional carrier in Houston, so I started studying my ass off and getting ready for that one. A couple of days later, I got ANOTHER offer from a carrier in my hometown that I had forgotten I had applied for. They wanted to know if I could be there in three days for an interview. So, I threw on the suit and tie, got on a plane, flew home and did the day long interview with them. I sat on pins and needles for three days, and I finally got a phone call from them saying I had the job. That was Thursday of last week. So, I've been re-shuffling all my students to other instructors, packing and generally freaking out that life is starting to work out the way I want.
On top of all that, I get to move home and save some much needed $$$. Living with my parents isn't gonna be the best thing in the world, but at least I won't have rent or bills to pay!
As far as the band goes, it's still on. The wonders of the airline industry allow me to show up, hop on an airplane (just about any airline), and fly from Memphis to Dallas for rehersals, then repeat to get back home. Did I mention this is also free? One of the little perks of being a pilot.
No date set yet. We were gonna do an acoustic show this Friday, but we couldn't get a place to play. We could do it outside, but the people that own the house don't want us to since the neighbors will more than likely call the cops (yeah, the neighbors are assholes). So, we're going over to Sherlocks on Friday to celebrate my new found fortune.
