Slowly getting there.
I think it will take some time to get to know the good places in Dublin. Most of the places i walked by just
play the same crappy music. It's kinda sad for a town this size. But who cares there's gotta be some good
places. The sheer amount of metal/goth shops wouldn't predict otherwise.
Anyway, Friday i've been out with the ppl of my company. It's a nice and really weird crowd but i guess
that's needed in this kind of job. We went for the Baggott Inn which is a nice place. A real plus and at the
same time a real downside is: Your tables feature your very own draft of Guinness or Carlsberg.
I didn't drink in quite a while, put having a draft right in front of you just seemed so much easier than
trying to fetch a waiter to get you a coke.
And then the real downside of Ireland came again. Closing Time WAY TOO EARLY!!
I mean come on... 1 O'Clock that's just ridiculous! But gladly that doesn't count for the Casino.
So together with 3 of my work mates we found our way to the Sporting Emporium of Dublin.
But let me tell you a bit of advice. NEVER GO TO A CASINO DRUNK
Ok i didn't loose money actually i made a small fortune, but it could have easily gone the other way.
Poker requires a high level of concentration and a clear thought process. Which aren't given after 10 Pints
and some shots. Well at least for a while. The whole situation of ending up at a table thats usually way
above my limits cleared my head up really fast. So i didn't leave there till 6am which is way more like my
time to head home.
Saturday went a little bit more slow having been disturbed like every 3 hours of my sleep. I wish i could have been so sound asleep as i used to be. There could be WW III going on outside i would have slept right trough it.
Then i catched up with some of the series i'm watching.
Today i went to see a really nice place very close to the city center. In walking distance of most of the pubs and of course the Sporting Emporium I Really hope ill get that place so i can at least stay till 1 in the pubs. Cause right now i have to rely on a bus line where the last bus leaves like 11.20pm which sucks big time.
And Dun Laoghaire where i live right now already closes up after 8pm. It's so dead around here i often feel
like in a zombie movie but sadly miss all the action.
