Arrgghh! Fuck!
Well I had went to the Optometrist last week and was discovered the I had a detached retina in my left eye and had a slight tear in the right. Now what this means is that I have to have sugery on my eyes. That sucks ass! I am way too young for this shit! The doc said it didn't help that I was nearsighted as hell. There are only say a few dozen ways that a person can get this...
1) Age.
2) A severe blow or trauma to the eye or head.
3) Extreme Nearsightedness.
These are only a few of the causes. Luckily, my doc thinks its because of my nearsightedness. My eyes are shaped like a football (oval) and these types of shapes can cause the retina to become detached. Because Inever went to see a Eye-Doc, I have lost over 60% of my vision in my left eye.
This is what is required to fix my eyes...
Left eye: First they will put me to sleep (by the way this surgery will take place in a hospital) with some good shit. The will laser all the scar tissue to help healing.
Than they will insert two needles in my eye to extrct the fluid and replace it at the same time with a gas bubble to help hold the detached portion back and to help reattach the retina.
Right eye: They will insert a laser that will remove as much as possible all the scar tissue and and keep this eyes retina from detaching (hopefully). Then they will insert a Sclerical Buckle around this eye to keep it from becoming like the left.
What this means is alot of disscomfort.
It doesn't mean that I will gain any vision in my left eye. However it also doesn't mean it wont happen again.
The good news is that there is a chance that I will regain some (around 10-16%) of my vision back in my left eye.
My right eye is really good and I can see 20-20 with glasses now, so the proceedure will help me from giong blind in that eye...

Well I go in for my surgery next friday (7/9/04), The proceedure last two hours and during this I will be in beddy bye land. The most annoying things are that I have to sleep on my chest for a week. and another thing is is that i'm scared to death.
