So I'm over at my grandmother's the other night, and we're watching the news while we talk. They move into their segment about Iraq, the usual "8 soldiers were killed in Baghdad today.." blah blah blah.
My grandmother says "I'm so ready for this mess to be over with. We had no business being there in the first place, and we're not helping anything there now. They should bring the troops home."
And I just look at her, stunned, thinking of our arguments little more than six months ago, about the election.
You see, she voted for Bush.

Have you checked out The Last Gang in Town, the Clash biography? It has a lot of good stuff on Pub-Rock, and sort of refutes the myth that punk (at least punk musicians) was a rejection of that style of music. Good stuff.
