So... big ice storm on Sunday (12/9) knocked out our electricity (and about 1,000,000 other people's), and six days later, we're among the 100,000 or so who STILL aren't back on. This. fucking. sucks. It hasn't been above 35 degrees all week, and in the 20s at night. Over at a friend's right now to shower, do laundry and check the ol' email, but heading back to the cold, dark house in a bit.* God, this is so old. First few days? "Eh, shit happens". A week? In December? When it's below freezing? Fucccckkkk. My patience was so thin yesterday I just felt frantic, like I was going to cry. I feel better today because I got paid yesterday and we went and got warmer clothes, gloves, beanies, lanterns, etc.
Also, we have an electric stove and oven and were already waiting for our landlord to fix our hot water heater BEFORE this all happened, so no hot water either.
Anyway, wish us luck.
*not staying anywhere else because we didn't want to abandon our dogs and ferrets.
EDIT: OH MY GOD IT FINALLY CAME BACK ON AT 8PM TONIGHT.

Doesn't someone somewhere owe you some kind of compensation for that?
