My advice is to do what makes you happy. It sounds like you want to stay in Chicago. If you truly don't feel that there is a future with your boyfriend, then why move back? It seems kind of self-defeating to me. I'm not sure if this helps or not.

i agree, you have to do what is best for you, and he has to do what's best for him. if staying in chicago is whats on the horizon for you, stay. if it means losing out on a relationship, who knows, it could wind up working out better for you anyways, or you may wind up reconnecting somewhere down the road.
