Fantastic Fest day... 6? I don't even know any more.
Rain has presence and totally pulls off the character. Or I should say "character" since he's basically a kick-ass stoic...
"Ninja Assassin": The best big-budget ninja movie ever made in Hollywood starring a Korean pop star. Also one of the bloodiest movies ever made, and director James McTeague ("V for Vendetta") confirmed that this cut was 100% approved by the MPAA for an R rating. Amazing. I got in on stand-by, luckily I was #8 out of about 50 people hoping to get in. Movie opens Nov 25th, and features Sho Kosugi as the head of the ninja clan! Reasonably good action, a good intro to ninja genre, but quite formulaic.
"Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl": Finally they realized these films are comedies! A charming larf-fest. Really!

"Private Eye": A great period mystery from Korea. Tight plot, good action, solid all around.
"Under the Mountain": New horror adventure from the guy who directed "Black Sheep" is basically a really scary kids movie. Decent but not astonishing.
Bedtime before midnight for the first time in forever. Goodnight!
