just got back from L.A.
it was a good experience.
i met people from all over.. and have new friends.
here is the rundown:
got in saturday.. walked around hollywood.. met up with said new friend:
UNSTABLE217 on here. went to a diner for some food.. saw juliette lewis. awesome. scored a famous person sighting the very first day in la.
sunday met up with a chicagoan who just a few months ago transplanted to la. she drove us out to Solutions.. payed respects to the wall.. left a msg. cried. passed out some stickers of the heart XO design my boyfriend made to some other people that wandered up. my boyfriend stuck a few of them to the wall.
monday was the big show. doors were at six, show at seven. we got there at 2 and were the first ones there along with a lovely girl that came down from seattle named laura. it was cool to pass the time with more people. we ordered pizza while we were in line standing outside the henry fonda.
when we were there a guy came out to change the letters on the sign to say "Elliot Smith Memorial" so then we had to tell him that he spelled it wrong. Typical
So he went back inside and got some more T's to change it to "Elliott Smith Memorial" i cheered.
got into the show.. were right up front next to the stage.. it was nice.. really nice. was go glad to be there. the part that hit me the hardest was 1.) his sister coming up to thank everyone for coming out and 2.) watching Strange Parallel.. the funny documentary about Elliott. I had seen it before.. but.. since he left i had not seen moving images of him. I could listen to the music.. and see pictures.. but watching him perform in the documentary just got me in the gut.. so i cried more. i think it finally hit that he is gone. today was the first time i talked about him in the past tense.
i'm glad to be home..

Man I wish I could've gone on that trip. Seriously. Sounds really good. And stop handing out that heart + xo combo. I won't be in the special exclusive group any more.
Ah ok, keep handing it out.
