this weekend was a blast. i worked a lot but on sunday i went with some friends to chinatown. we saw some pretty interesting and wacky stuff. vegans should never go there. they have lots of live animals and creatures in tanks. snails, turtles, frogs, snakes, fish... at one point a man asked for a frog and the butcher picked one out, held it by the legs and beat its head into the counter to kill it. now thats fresh.
another shop had all dried stuff like scallops, shrimp, abalone, seahorses... as well as fruits. they also had stuff that reminded me of a witches pantry or something out of harry potter: deer tails, antlers, dried lizards and some things i had no clue if it was animal or plant.
we got a bunch of stuff at a market, as well as a peking duck and headed back to their place to make dinner. we finished with some hot and sour soup (yummy and warming after walking around in the chilly air all day) and dumplings, and ate the duck moo-shu style.
thursday we are going to see dane cook with our friends. they never get out since they have small kids, so taking them will be fun. and in a few weeks i get to visit my family in michigan yay!
on a down side taxes are do and we owe many thousands.. basically from being self employed. it sucks. so things are tight for a bit. been there before so its not bothering me much. i'd rather it be tight and both of us working for ourselves.
