He drinks martinis and beer in the movies, and some wierd shit that may or may not be alcoholic and may or may not include human blood in TTOD.
Whiskey just sounds like him, though I don't recall him drinking any.

I think the piss would just be a pleasant survival tactic. Alcohol is more admirable than urine, and Jones like to keep up that badass image.
