I have just spent that last two hour tring to learnt the phrase "I am learning Icelandic" why two hours because the Univeristy of Iceland course online is a) all in Icelandic b) the spoken part of it is spoken so fast I can't understand what they are saying... >g er a lra slensku< sounds like two words spoken aloud.. and that is useless when tring to learn the language aloud
g itself seems to be pronuced 16 differnt ways depending on the person. It's not too too difficult written, and wouldn't be so hard to learn if you were hearing the individual words pronounced so you understood what you were saying... (one can say it fast once you've learned how to say it slow)
Some words I can't even figure out how they get pronouced from the written form. hva seems to be pronounced Qui. which totally baffles me. grrr... oh well..

Kind of reminds me of the time I put Interview with the Vampire on in both French language and french subtitles. I had no clue what was being said, or how the hell those words which looked on way sounded another.
