well... i had a great couple weeks there (thanks Steve!! $400 strip-clubbing?? naked pool-parties at the W?? good times!!) but now its back to the same old shit...
we finally got the judge to give Scratch a bond (click here if you don't know what I'm talking about), so we can theoretically get him out of OPP (Orleans Parish Prison, for those of you not in the know)... but what a long and fucked up journey that's been!!
His bond is $3000... cuz he got time served for the parole violation and the syringes (or was it a crack pipe?).. so the bail-bonds people started off telling us $200.. once we raised that, they upped it to $360... once we managed to raise that, they raised it to $480!!! then once we finally, after another month, got $480 together, 5 bondsmen in a row refused to take his case because he's a "flight risk", because of his parole violation charge!! And all this is besides the fact we need to find someone with a Louisiana ID to post the bond, who's not afraid of bounty-hunters coming after them if/when Scratch skips out on his court date! The only 2 willing people we've found so far have both disappeared off the face of the planet, once it got down to action time...
errrrrr.... Scratch must hate us by now... he's been rotting in there since april.. i'm scared to see what condition he's in, in there.. slowly being eaten alive by the justice system on the outside and the caner on the inside..
it just makes me so sad.. i really hope he doesn't hate us.. he has no idea how hard we've been working to get him out and how difficult its been to do so...
me and junkllama and Scratch..

Just got a letter from Scratch in the mail today.. It started off with "I knew you guys would not bond me out. I don't know why you all tried to sell me on a dream..."

I was evacuated right before the storm hit and am calling friends in New Orleans for the last two days... have found most of them, but am still worried about others...
I hope you are okay...
I never got to meet you while we were down there due to the accelerated schedule, storm, etc.
Stay safe and well; I still hope to meet you one day, so keep well...
