Finally, a chance to update. Currently in the good ol' PDX! Things here are so different than the south, and I mean DRASTICALLY different. Not in negative ways, just different ways. The driving around here is fucking insanity, the weather is busting my balls, and the walking has taken a toll on my back. BUT it really is awesome here and I'm glad it's my home. I love having a wonderful transit system, riding a bus has to be the easiest most relaxed way of getting around so far. I can't wait to get a new bicycle though, riding in this cool air will be most invigorating. Have I mentioned the nugs around here? Mmm, some of the best and freshest flavors I have ever had!
I have a ton of photos, some from the city, some from the country side, sea side, etc. I've got them all but alas they are currently on another computer. What is funny though is that I thought, "Oh Kayla, it will be sooo easy for you to just make a big move like this, no problem. I'm getting out of the south, yeah boy!" Ha, nah man I really fucking miss the south! I didn't know how much a part of me was really set in my southern ways, but the roots are there! Even though I'm originally from the north, I was raised in the south, and where you're raised has a lot to do with who you are today whether you like it or not. Don't get me wrong Portland rocks the casbah but my appreciation for the south has grown tremendously! I'm ready for the change though, so the city can bring it.
Peace.Love,
Kayla O.
