Back from Indiana. The trip was amazing and the states we went through (Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana) were beautiful! I have a new found appreciation for the mountains and I realized I need a prescription for xanax or something when taking long trips. I found out I have a HUGE complex when it comes to driving, big rigs freak me the fuck out and I about hyperventilated when I had to drive on those windy mountain roads. But other than the trucks and almost falling off cliffs it was a smooth drive (blunts every two hours
and such definitely helped my nerves). Indiana University makes my school look like a fucking day care! I mean the historical buildings and the whole area is just so breath taking and real.
The show was way over my expectations! Amos Lee did his thing, I had no idea that guy had such a voice! Elvis Costello is a one man band and comedy routine! He needs his own club, his performance was full of entertainment. Then..........BOB DYLAN came on and rocked the fucking house! His voice, his harmonica solos, the guitar, and the keyboard...ahh just too great for words. His performance gave me chills. He went way over anything I thought his performance could be. Anyone who says he still doesn't have it has no fucking clue what they are talking about! Bob Dylan still had the stage presence and grace he has always had. He was dancing at the key boards and he looked so god damn sharp in his 'desperado' outfit. His band was phenomenal too! I didn't want it to end, but they came back fierce with some killer encores. And when he played 'Mr. Jones' I thought my mind was going to explode because of all the feelings that were rushing through it.
To see such a revolutionary inspiration to counter culture makes me feel like I'm not completely out of the loop and just because of my age it wasn't too late. Plus we met the fucking coolest old hippie. Her name was Bjork and she was telling us how she was married to a man she didn't love and did the housewife thing then one day she dropped it all and continued to live her dream, she's an artist and travels all over. After the concert she followed Bob Dylan to the next city! So even though I can't live the dream to the fullest like I want right now (due to college and priorities) I can still live it later. Hope is a wicked thing.
