So this is what happened to Pyret:
He was having a cold at first, nothing serious, just sneezing and being a bit better. Then he got better but by wednesday this certain week we noticed he was maybe a bit tired again?
On thursday we had cat expert friends over to look at him, they thought he looked fine, just another cold. He was still eating and drinking. On friday his breathing got a little heavy so we called a vet about him. They told us to wait until monday. By friday night he was breathing fast and not drinking so we took him to the emergency animal hospital. We thought (and they) that he had gotten pneumonia after the cold.
They told us to leave him there, go home, nad theyd call us tomorrow to telll how things were going. When we got home and into bed the phone rang. We were afraid that things had gotten worse but the vet said "Im so sorry to tell you this, but Pyret just died when we took him from the oxygen case to go get x-rays of his lungs. We recommend an autopsy to find out what happened".
The results from the autopsy are back now and they say he had a weakening of the lungs that he mustve had for a long tme. They were all destroyed. I could never have imagined it, with such a happy and energetic cat! He was never tired!
We will always miss you, Pyret! <3
