Last summer I spent in a beautiful little house by the sea, and one day when I was looking for something to read I stumbled upon a few Agatha Christie books. I think I started with "Hickory Dickory Dock" or "After the Funeral". I read "The ABC-murders" while working a night shift. That was quite scary, being the only one awake in too large a room, with my entire concentration on the story. The squeeaking of the floor and the wind outside gave me shivers.
When I was flying to California I searched the flight shop for another book by her and found "And they were none". I can see why its such a classic.
Safely at home again I borrowed all the Christies that were in possession of my friends and family but started feeling that it was too random.
Orderly as I am I decided to read them all in chronological order.
However, I got to The Man in the brown suite and have stayed there for the last two months I think.
It started out kind of cute and I thought it might prove to be a romantic and intriguing story like "They Came to Baghdad." The later also has a young, naive girl as the main character and it had me quite captured (I think it may be one of my favourites of Christie).
So far though, I must say that The Man in the brown suite" really is extremly dull, the main character does nothing but hangs around on a boat and conspires, seemingly without no use of logic or brains at all. I will finish it some day soon, in order to be able to move on to the next, but I dont think Ill enjoy it very much.
Any other Christie fans out there? Someone who read them all and can confirm this is her most boring book?
