SEX ED
OK.. I really think it's time for schools to step it up a bit.. I mean this "wait till your married" sex ed approach isn't working! Not only that..but they do not spend enough time talking about STD's, and how you contact them.. or the freakin sex organs! I myself can't remember a thing about sex ed when I was in school.. nothing at all! I also think they need a 101 on oral sex too.. cause face kids are having sex (oral and vaginal, or anal) by the time they are 12 or 13! If we don't freakin inform them.. then expect teen pregnancy and a rise in STD's!!
What's brought this on you ask?? Well I had a young lady aprroach me today about and issue she is having, a female issue. She is 15! Actually she asked me if needed her mom's consent to go to Planned Parenting for a test..and I automatically thought pregancy.. I offered to take her to get a test.. but no she meant to be tested for STD's.. She then told me that she had oral sex with a guy she went to school with and now her peroid is messed up and she thinks she some type of infection . I wish I could have seen my face when she said that.. because I'm guessing I was looking at her like she was retarded! So I had to explain to her that swallowing sprem would not cause her to have an infection in her reproductive organs.. she would have to have vaginal sex (and yes I used those words) she honestly had no clue! Which is sad because we have kids out there having sex and they have no clue how they catch STD's, or even how to correctly protect against it. Parents and schoosl are not teaching these kids the facts on sex, or protection. We have made it such a taboo subject that I honestly think many adults, and parents are ashamed to even discuss the topic.I think sex should be a topic that is talked about freely, and discussed without shame! It's very apparent that "wait until your marriage for sex" lessons aren't working..so maybe it's time to switch things up..and teach them safe sex. What do you guys and girls think??
I'm happy she felt comfortable enough to come to me and talk to me about this issue, and explain to me what she was going through, what her symptoms are, and for telling me why she feared that she may have an STD, I'm happy to know the younger kids feel as thought they can come to me! I'm happy I have the knowledge and information to give her, and facts, and condoms. I know many may feel that was wrong, but she's going to do it anyway, I'd rather have her using protection then nothing at all! I encouraged her to go to her mom though and talk to her about this too.
OK.. I got this from myspace today..I liked it
AMAZINGLY SIMPLE HOME REMEDIES
1. A mouse trap, placed on top of your alarm clock, will prevent
you from rolling over and going back to sleep when you hit the snooze
button..
2. If you have a bad cough, take a large dose of laxatives, then you
will be afraid to cough.
3. Clumsy? Avoid cutting yourself while slicing vegetables by getting
someone else to hold them while you chop away.
4. Avoid arguments with the Mrs. about lifting the toilet seat by
simply using the sink.
5. For high blood pressure sufferers: simply cut yourself and bleed for
a few minutes, thus reducing the pressure in your veins. Remember to
use a timer.
6. Have a bad headache? Smash your thumb with a hammer and you will
forget about the headache.
Sometimes, we just need to remember what the rules of life really are:
You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and
should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.
Remember:
1. Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.
2. Never pass up an opportunity to go to the bathroom.
3. If you woke up breathing, congratulations! You get another chance.
