Be warned! This may be long, I have lots to catch up on!
So we took the workout easy at the beginning of last week but on Wed we kicked it back up. The other 2 girls were whining by Fri so they took the night off and I hit the YMCA. I did the weight machines at the same level I've been but here's the "woohoo for me" part, I did 5 miles on the treadmill and 3 of it was at a fast jog and all of it was on an incline! I know it doesn't sound like much but for me it is, so WOOHOO
Work is still hard but not as bad. Our director had us move everything around last week and change the way we do a lot of stuff. Although it's a pain in the ass to learn a new way when I just started understanding the old way I think the new will work. This way will give the animals more time to be adopted so we won't have to put as many to sleep. For those who don't know I'm now working for Animal Control, I'm not an officer so you won't see me out picking up strays, I work in the shelter and am now an official kennel wench. They hosed me Friday which means I've been accepted, luckily I had a change of clothes because I was soaked, literally had to dump water out of my boots. But hey, it's good clean fun
I went to work with my hubby yesterday, actually it was an excuse to go to the beach. 4 days a week he is the tire guy for the Richard Petty Driving Experience at Daytona Speedway. So I took him to work (had to be there at 7 am...ugh) and hung out there for a while, helped my friends in the souvenir trailer then went to visit my mom at her timeshare. Swam in the pool, played in the ocean, got a bit too much sun, took a nap and headed out to eat w/ Mom her boyfriend my aunt & uncle. We sat down to eat (right across the road from the track) and before I could order I got a call from John (hubby) and another friend telling me to get back on track so I had a few bites of bloomin onion and left. When I got on track they were waiting for me and I got a free ride-along around Daytona!!! HOLY CRAP!!! Rob (our buddy) was in the flag stand and gave Pete (my driver) the wave off to break the limit, in otherwords I got a faster ride than I was supposed to! AND I got double the laps of the paying people! It was right at the end of the day so I didn't get my pics or my time/speed but I'll get those later in the week, by breaking the limit I know we were over 170mph but I don't know by how far . Now I want to drive and because of John I get a family discount so I'm going to start saving. When it was over my face hurt from smiling so much for so long.
In other racing news...Saturday night...dirt track...Late Model class...Rob got 3rd place, 22 cars running, he started 16th, fought his way up to 6th, there was a pile up involving the first 3 cars on lap 8, he made it around and held on to 3rd for the remaining 12 laps. And because he loves me (he's the one who said we could go fast yesterday) he gave me $200 of his winnings.
All around I must say I had a good week and a fantabulous weekend!!!
