"Spite and Principle"
The Fly plays at being the hunter
He encroaches on her territory
Trespasses into her web
He's pleading, "Hey baby, I'm a better man."
The spider's only response-- a smile.
The fly, he hesitates and falters
He takes a step back from her nest
But, is caught in her beautiful trap
He chokes out, "But darling, I'm a better man."
She just laughs and laughs and laughs.
The fly came for some closure
The fly came to claim the upper hand
The fly came to confront the spider
But, he lost his dignity and life.
Spider whispers, "You were never a better man for me."
His voice echoes, "Hey baby, I'm a better a man."
She's hunched over his lifeless body .
The silhouette of a bitter woman.
This spider woman will never change for anyone.
Especially not a man that was once a maggot.
"His Broken Crown"
Long ago, Jack made Jill
A very bitter woman
What she loved, she wishes to kill
To his amazing horror.
Wrote these two whatevers last night. I'm kinda having a bit of deja vu just in the fact that I'm posting the two poems, but oh well. I don't think I've ever written these before. Haha. Someone from my past contacted me last night. I'd rather not talk about it, but you can get the gist of what happened in these two poems.
