I just donated all of my Christmas money. I think it was the best thing I could do. We went out shopping yesterday, but I wouldn't buy anything because I felt like I was contributing to a huge problem. I am really into conservation, but living in a condo prevents me from investing into things like solar panels or a composter and that sort of stuff, which really sucks. I do as much as I can here, but it never feels like enough.
Now I have sent two girls in Afghanistan to school, adopted a sea turtle, owl, and polar bear, donated to the conservation of the ocean and the arctic, bought land in the rainforest, and sent some teddy bears to kids in Africa. Know what everything cost? Under $300.
I want to do so much more now.
Update:
I decided to make it $300 even and donated to wetland conservation.
I also failed to mention earlier, it looks as though I will be moving east again if all goes well. We are in the process of planning to get away from here as soon as possible.
