the british sense of duty

a conversation between me and my mum on the phone:

mum: me and dad are away this weekend on a short holiday.
me: cool, where you going?
mum: (regretfully) Gloucester.
me: errr, why? you are aware its half under water, right?
mum: *sigh* yes, i know- but dad says 'weve paid for it, its all booked, we're bloody well going!'

youve gotta love that we brits just Dont Give Up. "We WILL go on holiday and we WILL have a good time!"

cracks me up. haha.

in other news, i didnt get the graphic design job, but apparantly they were very impressed by me, and although the job went to someone a little more experienced, theyd like to keep me in mind for future vacancies.
which is good news i guess.
i should have another design interview coming up for a company nearer to home soon, so wish me luck with that!

oh and for those that asked about the art stall, it was great fun.
