Egos melt like glaciers,
Releasing floods
Tearing into the walls of an empire
Built upon arrogance and pride

And now everything stands still

The haunting calm of a storm
Passed over
Leaving a blank canvas
Nothing but a sea of white
Blank future

The cycle begins anew

Carving its way through the ruins
Beneath layers of scar tissue
All charging for the end
Where everything starts

A cool resolve
Seeks to tame my guilt
But the flood is too quick
Too unbridled for chains
It wants to devour

Entire worlds fall dark
Collapsing upon themselves
Waiting for the dawn
To set ablaze this new horizon
To beckon life to its feet
As it marches on into the deep
The vast ocean of continuity

As I watch it all occur
Lights bending and twisting
Entwining themselves
Within the fabric of a new day
The wind carries a spark
One that will ignite
This dormant fear
And drive it headlong into oblivion

Tonight I will die
Only to be reborn
With wings of fire and
Eyes like the sun
Galvanized in my dawning
As the world awaits my command.
