first day at the new place I'm volunteering yesterday
beautiful ranch in vacaville for abused farm animals
this is the place I adopted my rescue chickens from, they still have like 2000 though. so i spent 8 hours mucking out huge chicken pens, re-haying them, moving hay bales and pitchforking truckfuls of used hay into a monster compost pile. topped off with 1 hour of weed wacking thistles up and down a creek bed with a heavy duty weed wacker. SO SORE, but feels awesome, I wish I could go more that once a week but its almost 100 miles round trip to get there and I cant afford the gas
dripped sweat all day and came home completely filthy and muddy and bleeding from various places that the thistles got me. Walked in the door, undressed into the washing machine, hot hot shower and then slept for 14 hours lol.
