I'm putting Maul on hold to work on the Ska-Vengers with my friend Joey. It's great to have an artist and a co-creator to keep me working.
I went college shopping with my mom yesterday and we saw an overly tanned girl wearing a pink CBGB's baby doll on and pre faded jeans. I pointed it out and my mom said "I bet she doesn't even know what CBGB's is. I bet HER mother didn't go there when she was young." (My mom not only was at Woodstock but she saw The Ramones, The Clash, The Sex Pistols, and The Talking Heads play live. She is infinitely cooler than I will ever be.)
I am very excited about finally going to college. I have been ready to leave for a very long time. It's not that I dislike my family (I love them to pieces) or even my little town all that much. I just really need to spread my wings. However there are one or two things that do kind of scare or bother me as I prepare to ship off to Cambridge.
1. I am going to a fairly highbrow school on almost a full scholarship, so it's really the first time I will ever be exposed to real affluence, which generally makes me uncomfortable.
2. I'm going to be 2 and a half hours away from my girlfriend by car. I never have really been involved in a long distance relationship before, and I'm not sure how it's going to work out.
3. I will be without my parents' food for the first time in my life. Both my parents cook professionally, so I've been spoiled my entire life. This one is not too big a deal though, because I live 40 minutes away by commuter rail. If I really start hankering for some enchiladas or home made granola, I can just hop on a train.
Like all things it's a great big adventure, and there are always stumbling stones. However, I plan to enjoy it as much as I can. To me, there is no other way to be.
Cheers,
Ch

That is sweet.
Too true about scars,
Amish eh? I think we have folks like that here at come of our markets... good cookies.. I sound like such a jerk calling them that but I don;t know what category they fit in, only that they wear bonnets...
'm not much for pies. I like to eat the crust of apple pie with cheese(on the side- old cheddar) and make someone else eat the filling. frozen cream pies are a different story...
Are you playing Urban Dead at the moment?
