dear journal;
i had the most splendid time last evening when i ventured out upon the town to partake in a music show at a local drinking establishment. it was swell, the drummer went to college with myself and a drinking chum, who also attended. we had not seen the drummer in quite a spell, roughly 3 years or so, and so naturally there was rather much to catch up on.
the establishment, Gluek's(pronounced glicks) had the most delightful and affordable mugs of dark beer, brewed right on the premises.
on top of that, the band was just plain ol' good. it was rather bluesy, which in moments of pretentiousness i had thought of as a rather tired genre, but i must say i enjoyed it profusely.
also in my company was a rather charming and beautiful young lady, and i must say, dear journal, that we had several quite nice and engaging conversations. i walked her to her car, as she expressed some dread over crossing the downtown area alone on such a night. she kindly gave me a ride back to the bar, for my chum and i weren't yet finished imbibing. upon arriving there, i remembered that she had not squared up on her tab, and therefore the bar was still in possession of her credit card. i watched her auto while she got her card back and then bid her a fair evening.
upon returning to the bar, i proceeded to drink more and enjoy the wonderful tunes.
not much more happened, except perhaps some good conversation with the drummers' little sister, much to his chagrin.
all in all journal, it was a fun evening, much more enjoyable than last friday, when i fell down a flight of stairs, though i didn't remember really, until much wonderment over the intense pain in my abdomen brought back some alcohol-soaked memories.
until next time journal,
