The day is not specified from the beginning. The taxi came quickly and suddenly I had half an hour to spare. It was August, at 6.30 am and I was in a foreign city and dutifully waited my photographer at a bus stop (which, btw, was late for half an hour). A couple of days before, I was strongly sunburn. My lips were swollen, my tattoo was burning me and my back and chest were impossible to touch. I was feeling really lousy, but the craving to take photos always wins.
The photographer picked me up in a car and we drove to the sea. I love the sea and I always wanted to take pictures there. We reached the desired bay and then began the most interesting part: the inside of the bay we had to walk was on the side of cliffs. I was in the lungs, but uncomfortable sandals, shorts, t-shirt and with a huge bouquet of lilies in my hands. I wasn’t warned about such harsh conditions. But I'm not used to complain, so I stepped behind the photographer. Every minute I was thinking about how not to break down. I'm repeating myself: «Nate, you have to be careful».Wet sandals treacherously slipped on the wet stones and heavily dug into my feet. The sea raged in earnest, the wind rose and a drizzling rain began. The waves beated against the stones, and strove to throw on the sharp rocks. We were going for a long time and I cursed everything. My fingers couldn't move from the cold, and the wind penetrated through. I climbed out of this place with my final strength and I was worried to ruin the bouquet of lilies which was supposed to decorate the shooting. It was the first time when I began to worry about myself. I really was scared. And I don’t even know what was scarier: to sink or smash against the stones.
When we finally got to the right place (we were walking for about 40 minutes), I was tired and scared, but when I saw the landscape, which opened before my eyes, I forgave everything. When I was shooting the sea tried to drag me on the slippery rocks, my skin was scorched, and the drifting waves tried to drown me. But we managed to shoot the set before the start of a storm and this was day imprinted in my heart forever.
