Well I am off for some more fishing and hiking over the 4th of July week. I have stocked up accordingly on alcohol, including one of the jumbo bottles of Bordeaux you see in the photo.
I also have a bottle of Balvenie Scotch Whisky to finish off, and two cases of beer. I am wondering whether I should get more beer.
I also have a couple new books to read when the fish aren't biting or I am not drinking. Hemingway's "A Farewell To Arms" and a recent biography of Clarence Darrow, who has always interested me. Maybe take along some Steinbeck too.
I also got a new notebook. I can hardly write at all on a computer so I mostly scribble on paper. It frees me somehow. This is my new notebook. The photo sucks but it says "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy".
