July 16, 2005 Half Blood Prince Book Release Costume Party
Me as Prof. Trelawney. Do I look like a Batty Old Divination Professor? There was a great Ms. Figg there too.
This costume got me second place and a copy of HBP on Cassette. First place was won by an actual kid. I knew I had no chance against kids, too old, but I did better than I thought. Love those glasses, I found them at a junk shop for like 3 bucks. The shirt, fan and shoes I found there too. Those are eye makeup glasses with hinges that flip them down. I thought they were good and odd and magnified my eyes more than anything else I could find.
Jem had a totally awesome, ass kicken Quidditch costume, that one of her friends ORYON posted in his pics.
Also did the Order of the Phoenix release party, June 20, 2003, had a blast making that hat. I wanted it to be as full of unnatural color as possible. I found the gaudy iridescent Purple rose looking flower as the center piece:
Here is the only actual proof I was at the ocean for nearly a month. Someone snapped a pic of the beach with our cam, in a good high resolution and I was there in the background. So I cropped down to me. Well at least you have to trust it is me under that hat.
That was our last day on the beach. I put on my tiniest suit to help fade out some of my tan lines a bit, not very flattering but those who didnt like it along the beach need not have looked.
One really fun thing that happened was my 2 Sis-In-Laws and I got pedicures. Snapped this pic of our pretty toes. Im the single footer I needed to lean back to get the shot framed better. I got a really out of character bubble gum pink. Dont think Ill ever choose that again.
In other news, since Ive been home not much has happened. Im rereading Half Blood Prince to confirm or deny any of the various Conspiracy theories I have heard about the book. Been discussing some of them with RNDMRONNIE under spoilers in each others journal entries to keep unsuspecting HBP readers from getting the story ruined for them. Im too much of a Harry Potter Freak. I even gave a copy of HBP to a kid in the neighborhood that I know loved the series but wouldnt be able to get it until much later. Im so looking forward to Goblet of Fire coming out in November.
Well let me get back to making blown up color copies of Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards to decorate my kids room with.
