Quote of the Day:
Uncle Claudius, I wasn't the Messiah after all, would you believe that? Could have knocked me over with a feather when they told me that. Caligula From I, Claudius BBC Miniseries 1976
Hello my poppets. I have finished watching I Claudius with MadDonkeyAraneda. It was quite good I recommend it to anyone who enjoys Historical Drama and just plain fucked up families (i.e. if you have ever indulged in The Jerry Springer Show)
Ive also gotten to see The Others and the 1990 PBS Miniseries of The Phantom of the Opera. I love this production here is a mini review for you all.
Beautiful Adaptation of the Phantom of the Opera! This is NOT the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Broadway version. The only music here is the Italian operas the opera house is performing. This version based on a stage version of the book, by noted playwright Arthur Kopit, is beautiful and well performed. I love this movie because it of its character development and lack of individuals breaking into song for absolutely no reason, what so ever. The use of the phantoms various masks to convey his mood is a very unique approach in this film and the climatic duet between Christine and Eric and a beautiful scene with Burt Lancaster and Charles Dance (Carriere and Eric) is very moving. Splendid cinematography, casting, direction and setting. A beautiful, and tragic love story, this SHOULD NOT BE listed in the Horror Genre.
Charles Dance is wonderously dreamy as Eric/The Phanotm
Ok Id love to know how life is treating you all, as it has been very quiet round these parts. Is it just me or is SG slowing WAY down lately? Maybe it is just my antisocial self. Maybe it is the fact that Im spending so much time watching movies on my Netflix membership that Im never on the computer. Actually that isnt the case. Ive been meeting people making friends and working at the bookstore rather than staying around here with my thumb up my butt.
I love working at the bookstore. Currently Im alphabetizing the romance section and my pet project is organizing the Childrens book section. Which is a crazy disorganized mess. Ive found some really great kids books that way as well and several very Pagan friendly books for my boys as well as books I used to have as a little girl. Any of you remember Lyle Crocodile?
In other news Ive been trying to track an animal around the house here. I wont be satisfied until I figure out what the fuck I saw, on 2 occasions no less. I know what I think I saw but that particular critter isnt supposed to have any range this far north. Yesterday I spend traipsing through the undergrowth and woods around here and the best evidence I found could have been left by plain ole dogs or cats. I think Ill put some of my good track photos in my pictures anyway.

Having a two year old, I am quite familiar with the kids books section. And the inevitable mess it is.
It's so cool that you can actually see animals around your house...here all we see is pigeons and rats...blech.
Hope you`re well mate
