Quote of the Day
Calgon Take me Awaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!! old Calgon commercials
Dearest SG ladies and Gents. My mind is about it implode. MadDonkeyAraneda starts at his new job on Dec 28th.
HOLY FUCK
Things will be hectic and crazy until well past that I hope all my SG buds can handle me being incommunicado for a couple months. I cant survive long without an SG fix but reality is that my quiet time will be limited for a good little bit. Needless to say, Im anxious, excited, nervous, sad and nostalgic, all at the same time.
Today we bought a humongo box of bubble wrap so I could pack up the family heirloom china. As we were walking out into the parking lot with this, I was staring at this box of bubble wrap thinking This is really happening, we are really leaving. It just became so much more real in that moment. I started to cry.
Gosh, it seems so surreal actually. Ive lived in NC since 1980 and have wonderful memories of growing up, running around in the woods, building forts and playing war and such but my heart has always missed the north.
Today MadDonkeyAraneda and I went and bought the whole family actual winter coats and various and sundry other winter paraphernalia. Short sleeved coats and hoodies wont be cutting it for January in Northern VA.
Well other than that there have been great pickings on the sidewalk outside our house lately as we simplify our lives and get rid of all the excess physical baggage (
not mental you notice) in our lives. Of course, we are pack rats and wont separate from it all but we are doing quite well, if I say so myself. A local Dominican church really scored and MadDonkeyAraneda was proud that the podium he made for me to use for weddings at the NC Ren Faire will be getting some use and not filling the local landfill.
Thinks to look forward too:
1) Loosing some of my accent
2) Public Transit
3) MUSEUMS GALORE
4) Monuments
5) History
List to be continued
