The Blaze
He can smile without sunlight,
eternal happiness in the dark.
With the blackness he can always see more
than the objects conceived in light.
And,
He can laugh when the earth grows old,
when the sun burns down slowly
and the light fades.
This love of the darkness is what he may keep
when the blaze grows dim
and the rest of us weep.
He can smile without sun light
eternal life, forever alone.
He can smile without sunlight,
eternal happiness in the dark.
With the blackness he can always see more
than the objects conceived in light.
And,
He can laugh when the earth grows old,
when the sun burns down slowly
and the light fades.
This love of the darkness is what he may keep
when the blaze grows dim
and the rest of us weep.
He can smile without sun light
eternal life, forever alone.
