"I went out to the desert, and there I learned that time is made of clay..."
-Wolfmother
Tonight I'm going to go to sleep beside the sea of dying dreams.
I will wander in dead hotels, and my stumbling boots will crush bleached pelican skulls.
And when I sleep, my dreams will taste of oil and salt.
Tonight I sleep in the desert and the dust.
And soon, for lack of poems to be had, I head back to the north, with new bruises blossomed and old memories reawakened.
Rachel and Shadi, Amanda and Kalico.
And old pantheon, yet always accepting applications. An equal opportunity employer... all the Circle demands is that your heart be as hard and jagged as cut glass. Hard to come by, and harder to hold.
Life has great grim teeth, sometimes, black and stained and broken.
Tonight I sleep by the sea of dying dreams.
And my dreams will taste of oil and salt, and the aftertaste of hope.
