well..it's almost yule/christmas again. time for the crazed and psychotic rush and the kids begging for everything they see on t.v. i don't remember being like that when i was a kid. christmas was kind of sparse. one year i dragged home a tossed out tree and made a bunch of decorations for it...most of the decorations were homeade anyway. and put what little tinsle was left over from the year before and when daddy got home he cried. he called it the charlie brown tree and tells that story every damn year, complete with teary eyes and voice choking from time to time. that was a bad year. daddy was a social worker and family therapist that ran a group home. they shut down the group home in september so he was still job hunting. i, being 12, thought that i could help with the tree problem. what did i get that year...ahh. small stuff for sure. a small porc. doll, a bottle of 7up and grenedine syrup to make shirley temples and cherries, maple candies shaped like people, and a diary. this year my son wants a new playstation, a nintendo sp, games for both, a new skate board (he already has 2), a pair of vans AND dc shoes, and i stopped listening to the requests. my daughter wants a chouchou baby that pees, eats, burps, has 8 life like functions and the batteries are not included. (that is exactly how she pitches the sale to me) OHHHH! kids....

My Yule highlight is pretty much the ritual re-enactment of Santa and the Chimney with Mrs. Claus [fill in your own innuendo here]. Well, it would be if there were still someone to be Mrs. Claus.
