Soooo, I started a new blog. I know what you're thinking... again kai? really? are you actually going to keep this one? Well I'm not abandoning my other one and when I cook and bake which I do anyways I will still post things I promise. It doesnt help that I've been pretty sick unmotivated to do anything outside of bed. ;]

I'm scared. I'm going to the specialist today for my thyroid. I know they're going to rub the awkward gooey gel of an ultrasound all over my neck. I know they're going to go over my awkward test results and they're going to finally put into words just how bad my thyroid is for someone my age. I've never been to a specialist I've always...

I put off buying one as well because all the blenders with removable blades are pretty expensive, but Argos had one on special so I caved in.

I haven't tried any with kale yet but I'm planning on getting some on the weekend. Most people recommend starting with baby spinach first because it's not as strong tasting as a lot of other greens so that's what I went with. I started with a small handful and have been putting a little more in each day, there's no real method to it, you just throw in whatever you feel like and blend it up. I honestly cant taste it but I haven't tried any of the stronger tasting greens yet so that may change.

I was surprised that my skin has got better from them though. I normally have ok skin, a couple of spots and some blotchy red patches at times, but after doing the smoothies it's a lot better. I had a couple of days with more spots than normal, I guess my skin was purging toxins or something, but now I've got no spots and no redness either.

The other day I got asked if I collect anything.

My only response could be, I did... I collected a lot... before the fire.

It's not on the front of my mind, unconsciously i know though. I know that a year ago my parents house burnt down and I lost my cats and everything I owned but the two bags of stuff I moved here...

Firstly, thank you for your reply to my last blog. It meant a lot. <3

I've spent a lot of time with Lauren this year, and it's taught me how far from easy it is to be far from home. And that's coming from me, as someone who isn't always so close to their family.

I hope that you get to see your family in the not-to-distant future. I hope that you can find something over here to start collecting. xx

Lady, thank you so much for your epic comment on my blog. Even though our situations are different on the surface I think the underlying feelings are exactly the same. I hope you eventually feel like you've found your place in England, it's a weird old place but it's a good one and we are blessed to have you on our shores.

Thank you! The pumpkin came from a big Tesco and was mahoosive. Preparing pumpkin takes ages, although now I have a load of seeds to roast for delicious happy times. The pie was eaten with the friends I mentioned and the Yank gave it two thumbs up*, so it was a definite success smile

*Although she said it was a bit "brown" for a pumpkin pie as they're normally meant to be orange. Still, it tasted awesome.
