Sleepy weekend. Sleepy Sunday anyway. I went out and saw Monsters vs. Aliens on Saturday and spent the rest of the evening watching the first season of Curb Your Enthusiasm at a friend's apartment. Both were pretty good, though I still like Seinfeld more than the latter.
Monsters vs. Aliens is probably the only way I can take Reese Witherspoon anymore
Sunday was long hours of sleep, Final Fantasy XI and the third season of The Venture Bros. Not the most thrilling day/evening in the world, but you can't go wrong with The Monarch or Doc's Swedish Murder Machine. Long live Warburton and Adult Swim's best show ever.

As for the new Star Trek, I have reservations about it beyond J.J. taking the reins. If anything, he's one of the few (relative) bright spots. I mean, I dig John Cho, but he isn't Japanese. And I love Simon Pegg, but he isn't Scottish. Both of those castings strike me as vaguely racist. Why not try to get Ken Watanabe as Sulu-- based on what I know about how they're updating that character, an older, experienced guy seems more apt. Plus, he's, you know, Japanese.
Rambling concluded.
