I would like to write something positive. But at the moment things aren't going my way. The Club in Scandic didn't work out so I have made some really big losses. I have lost 6 months at least from my own stand up acting, this might be a big deal now, but I have also gained some great experiences and built a network of contacts that can come to prove useful later.
Learning how to organize and MC a stand up club is truly useful when working stand up. You know why things work the way they work and you are prepared for what you find when visiting a new place. You have been the humble little hard working organizer your self.
Knowledge about how to rig a PA system is important if you are going to tour by your own and take some private gigs where the audio has to be brought by the performer or maybe there is an PA-system but no one at the party nows how to use it.
The marketing bit was my real soft spot but even if I didn't manage to take total control over it, I improved a lot. I also learned from my partners mistake. Actually, I wonder why they experimented with changing the newspaper where our ads was published in. It really confused the audience who learned that they could check out for the next show in FN and suddenly didn't find any ad because S wanted to put the AD in VN for that show.
While the club in Vrnamo went from bad to worse, I lead a comedy workshop in Gislaved. So now we have a few rookie-comedians there and we perform together on different stages in the area. We might share a car to some gigs and thereby making it possible for us to perform more. When learning stand up, and improving your skills, performing is king.
For some reason I have felt an creativity boost lately and write more stand up material... Most of this is positive when I come to think about it so maybe it all was worth the loss of roughly 4000$?
